His vision is offsetting one pound of carbon emissions for every environmentally-focused video watched by someone logged in to GoGreenTube. Signing up is easy, and after logging in, you not only have an opportunity to watch green videos but also to upload ones of your own.
In less than six months time, GoGreenTube has already created a thriving community. "The response has been nothing short of spectacular," said Mike. "Everyone seems to love the site and its mission."
Membership is growing at 100 percent per month.
"We partnered with CarbonFund.org and purchase offsets by the ton," Mike said. "One ton has 2,240 pounds in it, and for each video watched when a user is logged in we offset one pound."
Also in the works for GoGreenTube is its Green Business Space, a section of the site that will allow green businesses to share information about their services and products. "We have a vision that while people are educating themselves on how to be green," Mike said. "They will then have an opportunity to shop all at the same time."
